"Queen of Szczecin" set off on her first cruise. The new water tram connected Szczecin with Nowe Warpno and Świnoujście

This morning, at exactly 7:00, the new water tram "Queen of Szczecin" set off on its first regular cruise from the Szczecin quay. This is the long-awaited inauguration of the Local Government Water Trail, which will connect Szczecin with Nowe Warpno and Świnoujście.

There were several dozen people on board the vessel, including many passengers with bicycles – the new line is very popular among both tourists and residents of the region. The ceremonial cutting of the symbolic ribbon was performed by the district governor of Police, Shivan Fate, and the captain of the ship, Janusz Just, thus signaling the beginning of the cruise season.

– This is an important day for our region. The new water connection will not only facilitate communication between towns on the Szczecin Lagoon, but will also open up new opportunities for the development of tourism and recreation – said the mayor of Fate.

The Queen of Szczecin will regularly operate on the Szczecin – Nowe Warpno – Świnoujście route, offering passengers a comfortable cruise along the charming waters of Western Pomerania. The water tram has been designed with the comfort of passengers in mind – on board, among other things, there are places for bicycles, which makes it an attractive proposition for lovers of active recreation.

The first cruise took place in favourable weather conditions, and the enthusiastic reactions of the passengers confirm that the Local Government Water Trail project has a chance of becoming a permanent element of regional communication and tourism.

The water tram is scheduled to run every weekend during the summer season.
